Domestic Workers Bill of Rights

Listen  (29 min)

Big Contradictions!

Why would progressives and people with disabilities be opposed to something called the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights?

The disability community is deeply divided on  state bill, AB 889, which would provide additional benefits to domestic workers who work for people with disabilities.

An exception has been made for people assisted by IHSS, In-Home Supportive Services, who are low income people with disabilities, so what’s the problem?
